The government has decided to apply "priority measures such as prevention of spread" to Tokyo, Kyoto and Okinawa.

We would like to curb the re-spread of infection by encouraging people to refrain from unnecessary and unurgent movement across prefectures as much as possible, even during the Golden Week holidays, while being extremely vigilant against mutant viruses.

The government opened the new corona virus countermeasures headquarters on the 9th and applied "priority measures such as spread prevention" to the three prefectures of Tokyo, Kyoto and Okinawa, from the 12th to the 5th of next month in Kyoto and Okinawa. Tokyo has decided to do so until the 11th of next month.

As a result, the "priority measures" will be applied from the three prefectures of Osaka, Hyogo, and Miyagi to six prefectures.

Prime Minister Suga said, "By taking intensive measures such as shortening the business hours of restaurants until 8:00 pm, applying penalties, and patrols of all restaurants, we will prevent infections so as not to declare a state of emergency. I want to make an effort. "

The government will continue to take thorough measures against infections at restaurants, and while being extremely vigilant against mutant viruses that are spreading mainly in the Kansai region, it will be unnecessary and urgent across prefectures, including during the Golden Week holidays. We would like to prevent the re-spread of the infection by encouraging people to refrain from moving as much as possible.

On the other hand, regarding the response to Saitama, Chiba, Kanagawa, etc. where the "priority measures" were not applied, the government decided to analyze the infection situation etc. in cooperation with the governor of each while assessing the effect of the measures. Therefore, our policy is to flexibly utilize "priority measures" as necessary.
