Hamburg (dpa / lno) - According to initial findings, customs in Hamburg discovered a brothel disguised as a massage parlor.

The financial control of illegal work carried out a total of four search warrants on Thursday of last week, as the main customs office announced on Friday.

The owners of the searched Thai massage parlors in the districts of Eimsbüttel and Altona were suspected of not having paid social security contributions properly and of employing employees without a residence permit, it said.

Three Thai women without work permits were reportedly found during the searches.

In addition, the suspicion arose that at least one of the rooms reported as massage parlors is actually used as a brothel.

"Extensive written evidence, such as business documents and various electronic storage media, could be secured," said Sandra Preising, the press spokeswoman for the main customs office.
