On the 8th, a volcano in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, an island nation in the Caribbean Sea, became active and the government ordered residents to evacuate, saying that an explosive eruption was imminent.

The volcano was confirmed to be active on the 8th at La Soufrière volcano in the northern part of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, an island country in the Caribbean Sea.

A video taken on the 8th by a research institute in another nearby island country, Trinidad and Tobago, shows white smoke rising from near the crater.

Research institutes have identified six volcanic earthquakes that appear to be associated with the movement of magma near the surface, analyzing the potential for explosive eruptions.

Experts at the institute said in a press conference with local media that "it could happen in a few days or hours" about how imminent an explosive eruption was.

In response to this situation, the government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines raised the eruption alert level to the highest level and ordered the residents around the volcano to evacuate.

In addition, the foreign minister of Venezuela in South America has announced that he will dispatch supplies and personnel to cooperate in the evacuation of residents, and there is a growing movement among neighboring countries to embark on assistance.
