Yangquan is located in the middle section of Zhengtai Road. It straddles the Jinchaji and Jinji Luyu bases behind enemy lines. Then Shinao Mountain is the highest peak of our Yangquan city (district).

It can be said that the control of Shinao Mountain is equivalent to the control of the entire Yangquan City from a high level, and then it also restrains the vital area of Zhengtai Road.

At that time, on the evening of August 20, 1940, the soldiers of the 769th regiment and the 14th regiment of the 129th division 385 brigade were ordered to occupy Shinao Mountain first.

Then he launched a desperate battle with the well-equipped Japanese army. At that time, the Japanese army used planes, artillery, and poisonous gas to bombard indiscriminately.

Our army stayed on Shinao Mountain for 6 days and nights, and finally completed the task of sticking to Shinao Mountain.

The victory of Shinao Mountain also laid a solid foundation for the victory of the first stage of the Hundred Regiment War.

[Explanation] Except for Shinao Mountain, there are still battle remains in many places in Yangquan today.

Niangziguan, the ninth pass of the Great Wall, is located at the foothills of Mianshan Mountain, about 40 kilometers east of Yangquan City, and has always been a battleground for military strategists.

In Mohetan Village at the foot of Niangziguan, bullet holes in the wall of Liu's old house are clearly visible, witnessing the fierce fighting that year.

Our yard was the company at that time. Ministry, our Shangfang building was a bunker at that time.

When the Japanese Devil fired artillery, the Eighth Route Army soldiers evacuated and concealed in the cave. When the Japanese Devil’s artillery stopped, the soldiers went to the room and continued to fight with rifles and machine guns.

A total of more than 800 Japanese devils came to our village. At that time, the company had only more than 100 people. The fighting was quite fierce. The troops stayed in this village for a day and night, repelling the enemy several times.

[Explanation] Today, this old house has become a local immovable cultural relic.

In addition to the old houses, many villagers also actively support the frontline deeds.

According to statistics, during the Hundred Regiments War alone, there were more than 7,400 militiamen participating in the war and more than 100,000 people in front of them.

Nowadays, this red land has beautiful mountains and clear waters, and the city is dangerous.

Relying on the resources of the Great Wall, the local area develops cultural tourism. The surrounding residents open farmhouses, process souvenirs, and eat tourist meals.
