Demmin (dpa / mv) - The police headquarters in Neubrandenburg are investigating allegations after an allegedly illegal search at a left-wing cultural association in Demmin.

As Police President Nils Hoffmann-Ritterbusch announced on Thursday, there are “serious allegations” by the “Lübeck Speicher Demmin” association.

He had filed charges of trespassing and coercion.

According to the association, officials had to secure a car parade from critics of the Corona policy in Demmin on Holy Saturday.

Some police officers are said to have illegally visited the higher-lying rooms of the association at the port and looked around there, allegedly in order to exclude "disturbances against the lateral thinkers: inner demo" from there.

There was no judicial legitimation.

"Of course, preliminary proceedings are now being opened and the allegations are being meticulously examined," said Hoffmann-Ritterbusch.

As in every preliminary investigation, a decision will be made on the consequences of criminal law, service law or other consequences at the end of the proceedings once everything has been determined.

About 60 people in 25 vehicles took part in the parade and a demonstration.

There were no incidents.
