Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - In the coming school year 2021/2022, 19 new all-day schools will start in the southwest.

Education Minister Susanne Eisenmann (CDU) announced this on Friday.

The corona pandemic once again made it clear that school is not just a place of learning, but also a place of encounter.

“This is especially true for all-day schools.

Because this is where a lot of time in the life of the students takes place. "

The Ministry of Education approved four new all-day schools more than in the previous year.

A further 13 schools will then go into operation with the all-day concept anchored in the Schools Act - twelve new primary schools and a special education and advice center with a focus on learning.

There are also six secondary schools that work according to the old concept.
