In the clip, Nils Bjelm at NCC tells more about the decision.

SVT Nyheter has previously reported on the three dissatisfied workers at a construction company involved in the Västlänken project.

For a long time, they will have to pay back a large part of their salary, they claim.

NCC started its own investigation as soon as it became clear that some workers had reported the foreign subcontractor to the police.

They have taken part in hidden recordings and talked in detail with a number of the subcontractor's employees to find out what happened.

The construction company's investigation is now complete.

The result: NCC terminates the contract immediately.

The subcontractor received the message on Thursday.

Not waiting for the police investigation

The overall picture is that the three dissatisfied workers' version has been proven - more employees should have been forced to pay back part of their salary shortly after it was paid out, NCC says.

The company has consistently denied all allegations.

Instead, they fired the three men and reported them to the police for attempted extortion.

But for NCC's, the information that has emerged in its own investigation is enough.

They do not consider it necessary to wait for legally sound evidence.

Nor are they worried about any damages to the company.

The construction group's image is that it is the subcontractor who has deviated from the terms of the agreement, and thus they consider themselves free to break it.

Unemployment awaits

For the more than eighty foreign workers with the subcontractor, unemployment and a trip back to their home country are likely to await.

In a press release, NCC says that it deeply regrets that the company's employees are affected - but adds that it feels safe to have made the right decision.

According to Nils Bjelm, work is already underway to find a new subcontractor.

He reckons that the events will not delay this part of the Västlänken project.

The police investigation into the case continues.
