No one will be released from prison just yet.

Thursday, the neighbor of Jérôme Gaillard, ex-husband and suspected murderer of Magali Blandin, was kept in detention.

This man of Georgian nationality had requested a request for release, which the investigating chamber refused him, reports

Ouest-France.

This 31-year-old man is suspected of having "advised" his friend Jérôme Gaillard and presented certain knowledge of the Georgian community likely to kill his wife, with whom he was in the process of divorce.

The lifeless body of the 42-year-old mother was found on March 20, 2021 in a wood located in Boisgervilly, a few kilometers from Montauban-de-Bretagne, where her husband lived.

The latter admitted having killed her with a baseball bat on February 11 in Montfort-sur-Meu.

According to his lawyer, Jérôme Gaillard would have paid 20,000 euros to Georgians in the fall of 2020 so that they eliminate the mother of his four children.

The suspects had recorded the conversation with the husband without his knowledge and had evidence of his willingness to see his wife die.

In February, they tried to blackmail Jérôme Gaillard by extracting money from him, threatening to reveal the audio recording.

The alleged murderer had testified to this extortion attempt to the examining magistrate, which put investigators on alert.

His phone spotted near the victim's home

On Tuesday, Jérôme Gaillard's friend requested his release, two weeks after his placement in pre-trial detention.

In addition to having introduced his friends, this 31-year-old man is suspected of having been present near Magali Blandin's home the day before the murder.

This is what seems to indicate his phone which had "limited" in the area.

Friday, it is the request for release of the mother of Jérôme Gaillard which had been refused by the chamber of instruction.

The latter, like her husband, is suspected of having helped her son in his murder project, in particular by paying him money.

The lawyer for Magali Blandin's parents had estimated that this murder was not the result of "a fatal chain of usual violence" but rather "of a thoughtful personal individual resolution" on the part of the husband.

The investigation continues to determine the roles of each of the protagonists.
