Tuesday and Wednesday, two people were arrested for theft with violence and complicity in theft with violence, we learned from the Departmental Directorate of Public Security.

The facts took place Tuesday evening, in Cambrai, in the North.

At the end of the afternoon, Tuesday, the owner of a vehicle parked rue d'Eswars, in Cambrai, surprised an individual searching the interior of his car.

But instead of running away with his hand caught in the glove compartment, the thief took it into his head to rob his victim.

Pursued through fields and hit with a shovel

The owner of the car, 49, tries to escape the individual by fleeing across the fields.

The two men finally confront each other as they arrive in a farmyard.

The thief quickly gained the upper hand in the ensuing struggle, kicking his victim.

He then seized a shovel found on the spot with which he struck the forty-something again.

The thief eventually stole the man's iPhone and wallet before turning back.

In the meantime, the police had been notified and a patrol spotted the individual.

The latter was arrested after a short chase.

Placed in police custody, the 26-year-old individual denounced an accomplice during his hearings.

He was arrested at his home the next morning and then taken into police custody with his colleague.

Both are summoned by justice next October.
