The curfew already in force, the thirty-something had been checked by the police on Friday evening while he was driving at high speed in the streets of Dinard.

But rather than stop, the individual had accelerated before engaging in a chase with the police.

He had multiplied traffic offenses by taking prohibited directions and roundabouts in the wrong direction and by going through several stops and a red light.

He finally struck two parked vehicles.

His arrest had also been muscular, the individual engaging the reverse gear to hit the police car.

Father of three children, he was driving that day without a license and in a car whose keys he had stolen from his former companion, the daily said.

The court sentenced him to 18 months in prison, six of which were suspended.

A previous three-month reprieve was also revoked.
