Nurse Michaela in Gävle: "Is there a limit to what we can do"

From having had 12 places at iva, the hospital now has 15 and the staff work under crisis agreements, which means 12.5-hour long shifts.

But the staff is still not enough for the 15 care places, but staff from IVA and surgery in Hudiksvall and Bollnäs need to come to Gävle to fill gaps.

- We are not more with iva competence, we know that it is we who will need to work and the burden on us increases, says Michaela Bülow who is a specialist nurse in intensive care at Gävle hospital.

At the intensive care unit in Gävle, you also notice that younger people seem to be getting sicker now.

- With the new mutations, we see that there are more young people who need care compared to before, says Michaela Bülow.
