08 April 2021 Another sad record for Brazil: the Ministry of Health has announced that the threshold of 340 thousand deaths from Coronavirus has been exceeded.

After yesterday's disastrous toll: 4,195 deaths, the last 24 hours have recorded alarming figures.

There are 3,829 deaths which have therefore led to a total of 340,776 victims since the beginning of the pandemic.

In the same period, 13,193,205 cases of contagion were recorded, 92,625 of which in the last 24 hours.

The new Coronavirus infections registered in Germany in the last 24 hours were 20,407, the deaths 306. This was announced by the Robert Koch Institut.

And the increase in ICU admissions has raised the possibility of a new lockdown to ease the pressure on hospitals.

One-month lockdown, confirmed in Ontario, Canada, where cases are growing for the second time.

Specifically, tripling so much that local authorities have invited the population to stay at home.

Prime Minister Doug Ford announced the restrictive measures in Ontario, Canada's most populous province.

"Please, unless it is an essential reason, stay home because the situation is serious," said Ford.

Faced with a sharp rise in coronavirus cases and hospitalizations, the province tightened its restrictions last week, but local health authorities found them insufficient.

Hence the premier's decision to close for a month: it is the second time this year that an emergency has been declared at the provincial level.
