“Our call to all parties involved is, of course, to do everything possible to reduce tensions,” TASS quoted him as saying.

He also commented on the shutdown of a pumping station in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian armed forces. 

“Yesterday, as a result of shelling, the power line that feeds the pumping station in the eastern part of Ukraine was damaged.

As a result, about a million people on both sides of the contact line were left without access to water, ”Dujarrik said.

He added that the UN reiterates its call on all parties to avoid hitting critical water infrastructure.

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry called on Ukraine and NATO countries to stop military preparations, escalate tensions in the Donbass and refrain from destabilizing actions.
