Okhrimenko recalled that the ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed a law that amends the Constitution of Ukraine and fixes in it the course towards joining the EU and NATO, but the expert noted that there are nuances, including technical ones, that enable the country to join the alliance.

“How much money should be given to Ukraine to make the Ukrainian army compliant with NATO standards?

This is a colossal amount, which, as I understand it, Germany does not want to give, the United States will definitely not give it, ”the expert explained.

According to him, at the moment "there is an idea, but there is no definite money to join NATO."

“For this reason, there will be statements, maybe some memoranda, interviews, all this will be.

The Ukrainian army differs so much from NATO standards ... In principle, the representative of the FRG told the truth, maybe unpleasant, but the truth, ”the expert concluded.

Earlier, the representative of the German Cabinet of Ministers Ulrike Demmer spoke about the process of Ukraine's accession to NATO.

According to her, Ukraine "has the right to free choice in accordance with its political needs, but further steps towards its membership are not currently foreseen."
