Essen (dpa / lnw) - After a suspected attack threat, the police cleared a shopping center in Essen on Wednesday afternoon.
Shortly after 4 p.m. there was an "indication of an impending damaging event," said a police spokesman.
Then the people were asked via loudspeaker announcements to leave the building in the Altenessen district.
The traffic had been diverted.
Motorists were asked to drive around the area extensively.
Rescue workers searched the cordoned off shopping center.
