Handelsbanken and Swedbank are the banks that still have bank branches in the interior of Västerbotten.
When Handelsbanken now closes several bank branches, there is only one bank left in most municipalities - in Sorsele, Dorotea and Åsele there is no bank branch left at all.
- It is difficult to get a loan for investments in sparsely populated areas in general.
If you can not meet the local banker that you may know or who has knowledge of the business community in the area, the chances of loans decrease even more, says Gustaf Forsberg, controller at the County Administrative Board in Västerbotten.
