Dresden (dpa / sn) - The displeasure with the planned diet increase for members of the Saxon state parliament is increasing.

After an online petition began at the end of March, the small party Citizens' Alliance of Saxony also spoke up on Wednesday.

She suggested linking the amount of the diets to purchasing power and not to gross wages or judges' salaries.

«We want to motivate the MPs to pay more attention to the wage deductions.

If there is more net and thus more purchasing power for everyone, then the MPs and employees should also benefit to the same extent, ”explained the deputy party leader Cathleen Martin.

In 2021 and 2022 there should be no diet increase at all.

The online petition to the Saxon state parliament was supported by 565 people until Wednesday noon.

12,000 signatures are required for a treatment in parliament.

The campaign will run for another four weeks.

The AfD and the Left had already rejected a diet increase.

With a view to the needs and concerns of many people and companies in the pandemic, the Junge Union also spoke of a “wrong signal” about the “untimely”.

Most recently, the taxpayers' federal government called for a sense of proportion.

There should be no special treatment "for politicians on their own behalf", said President Thomas Meyer and suggested, among other things, a reduction in state parliament mandates and the expansion of tax liability on all parliamentary income.

Saxony's Kenya coalition has so far defended the increase in diets.

They are expected to rise from 5943.50 euros to 6237.04 euros per month in November.

The coalition members point out that there have already been two clear rounds and that the demands on work in parliament have increased.

The CDU Economic Council of Saxony called for an adjournment - “until the crisis and its consequences are over”.
