The Central Election Commission said that the voter turnout for re-and-by-election in 21 places nationwide, including the mayors of Seoul and Busan, is 51.9% as of 7 pm.

From the start of voting at 6 a.m. to the present, 631 1,84 out of the 11,216,624 voters have voted.

This is a figure reflecting the total amount of pre-voting held on the last 2-3 days.

Considering the time remaining until the 8 p.m. voting deadline, the overall turnout is likely to approach the mid-50% range.

By region, 4579,000 people participated in the Seoul Mayor's election, recording a 54.4% turnout.

At this time, the turnout in Seoul is 13.7 percentage points and 5.5 percentage points lower than that of the 2020 general election (68.1%) and the 2018 local election (59.9%), respectively.

The number of voters for the Busan mayoral election is 1.45 million, with a turnout of 49.4%.

It is estimated to be 18.3 percentage points lower than the Busan turnout (67.7%) of last year's general election and 9.4 percentage points lower than the Busan turnout (58.8%) at the time of the 2018 local election.
