Mainz / Saarbrücken (dpa / lrs) - The people in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland have to be prepared for uncomfortable winter weather in the coming days.

With changing clouds, it should rain, snow or sleet on Tuesday, as the German Weather Service (DWD) announced.

Up to 3 centimeters of fresh snow can fall above 400 meters.

Thunderstorms are also possible.

The temperatures are between one and seven degrees.

In the night of Wednesday it cools down to minus six degrees.

Snow should also fall widely during the day.

The roads can also temporarily become slippery at up to seven degrees.

In the night of Thursday the showers then decrease, during the day it should remain mostly dry.

The maximum temperatures rise to up to ten degrees.
