Yesterday, members of the terrorist organization "ISIS" kidnapped 19 people, most of them civilians, following a surprise attack in the Badia region in central Syria, according to what was reported by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The Observatory stated that during clashes with the Syrian forces in the eastern Hama countryside, the organization kidnapped eight policemen and 11 civilians who were collecting truffles in a nearby area, and 40 people are still missing.

The official Syrian News Agency (SANA) also reported that a number of residents of the village of Al-San were kidnapped by the terrorist organization "ISIS" during the collection of truffles, noting that others were injured and transferred to Al-Salamiyah Hospital.

Since the announcement of the elimination of "ISIS" two years ago, and its loss of all areas of its control, the last of which was the town of Al-Baghouz, the organization has retreated to the desert stretching between the governorates of Homs (central) and Deir ez-Zor (east) at the border with Iraq, where its fighters are holed up in mountainous areas.

During the past months, the terrorist organization's elements have escalated the pace of their attacks on the Syrian forces in the Badia, which has turned into a scene of clashes.

The director of the observatory, Rami Abdul-Rahman, said that in several attacks, the organization's elements kidnapped civilians, shepherds, and soldiers from the Syrian forces, indicating that most of the time the kidnapped were executed, especially soldiers, explaining that yesterday's operation was the largest kidnapping incident carried out by the organization since Announcing his elimination.

During its control over large areas in Syria and Iraq, the terrorist organization launched several kidnappings of dozens of civilians.

In July 2018, the terrorist organization, in a large-scale attack on the As-Suwayda governorate, which has a Druze majority, kidnapped about 30 people, before they were released after about three months, while five of them were killed or died during the period of detention.
