Chinanews.com, Kuala Lumpur, April 6th (Reporter Chen Yue) The Chinese Embassy in Malaysia joined forces with Yishan, Kuala Lumpur, Guangdong, Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall on the 6th to hold a grand ceremony in front of the "Monument for the Martyrs of Selangor Overseas Chinese Mechanics Returning to China" "Ching Ming Festival" event.

  In front of the monument, the Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Ouyang Yujing, on behalf of the embassy and representatives from all walks of life, laid a wreath for the heroes and arranged the elegiac couplets; everyone bowed to the monument three times and expressed deep silence.

Afterwards, Ambassador Ouyang and representatives from all walks of life jointly released blue and white balloons praying for world peace and people’s stability. Everyone stepped forward and placed flowers in front of the monument to express their grief and pay tribute to the martyrs.

  Embassy Diplomat, Malaysian Chinese Assembly Hall Association, Malaysian Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Malaysian Chinese School Directors Association, Malaysian Chinese School Teachers Association, Malaysian Chinese Surname Association, Malaysia's Eight Chinese Associations, Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Nearly 40 representatives from the China Assembly Hall, Kuala Lumpur, Guangdong Yishan, the General Chamber of Commerce of Chinese Enterprises and Chinese students attended the event.

  After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, since February 1939, under the call of the overseas Chinese leader Tan Kah Kee, overseas Chinese and Chinese youths from all over Southeast Asia, including Malaysia, enthusiastically signed up to form the Nanyang Overseas Chinese Mechanics Returning Service Group and returned to the motherland in batches. China supported the Anti-Japanese War, and many of them died on the battlefield of the Anti-Japanese War.

The "Monument for the Martyrs of Selangor Overseas Chinese Mechanics Returning to China in the War of Resistance against Japan" was established to commemorate the mechanics who returned to China during the War of Resistance.
