Kellinghusen / Kiel (dpa / lno) - The state parents' council of primary schools and support centers has criticized the new compulsory corona test for students in Schleswig-Holstein.

Testing is an important tool, the state parents' council announced on Tuesday.

However, it should be voluntary and the opportunity to test at home should be created.

Education Minister Karin Prien (CDU) had said before Easter that there would be no face-to-face classes without a negative Corona test after the Easter break.

Two self-tests per week are to be offered in schools.

Those who do not take part can also present a medical test certificate or a certificate from a citizen test center or a pharmacy, the minister said.

The State Parents' Advisory Board cited, among other things, data protection and informational self-determination against the obligation to test in schools.

In addition, there should be no exclusion if parents do not agree to the tests.

Compulsory schooling and the state educational mandate are high constitutional goods.
