Dresden (AP) - Third division soccer team Dynamo Dresden has to do without a substitute goalkeeper Patrick Wiegers for several months.

The 30-year-old suffered a tear in the anterior cruciate ligament and a tear in the meniscus in his right knee during training.

The Elbstädter announced on Tuesday.

«Due to the serious injury, I was of course very disappointed at the first moment when I was informed of the diagnosis.

But I think positively with a view to the future, "said Wiegers in a club announcement.

The goalkeeper has been part of the professional squad since 2014 and has played a total of 27 competitive games for the Saxons.

In the current season, the representative of goalkeeper Kevin Broll remained without use.
