In recent years, the media has pumped out columns of articles about the increasing lethal violence and more and more explosions.
Those crimes are almost exclusively gang criminals behind it and they are also the ones who suffer from it.
At the same time, figures show that those who are cared for in hospital due to abuse have fallen in the last five years in Stockholm County and fewer and fewer report that they have been abused.
- It is important that these positive statistics come out, that we do not have a clear negative development where crime in Sweden is constantly getting worse and more serious, says Felipe Estrada Dörner who is a professor of criminology at Stockholm University.

Several reasons for the reduced assault violence
In addition to reduced alcohol consumption, criminologists see that other values such as gender equality have a greater place among younger men.
