Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) - The Hessian family doctors are ready for the corona vaccinations in their practices.
Most will get started on Wednesday (tomorrow), according to the Hesse Family Doctors' Association.
Before that, the practices would still be supplied with the vaccine, said the first association chairman, Armin Beck, on Tuesday.
The demand for a vaccination is great among patients.
The amount of doses that doctors can vaccinate is initially limited: According to the state, an average of about 20 doses per week and doctor's office are available at the beginning.
Deliveries and orders are made by the federal government via pharmacies, which in turn order from pharmaceutical wholesalers, it said.
Nationwide, all practices receive a total of 940,000 vaccine doses in the first week.
In the week of April 26th, there should be a significant boost: then the practices can expect a total of more than three million doses.
So far, the corona vaccines in Hessen have mainly been administered in the 28 vaccination centers.
