Berlin (dpa / bb) - The Eisbären Berlin have also clearly lost the second duel against EHC Red Bull Munich in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL).

On Tuesday evening, the Berliners lost 0: 5 (0: 2, 0: 2, 0: 1) to second in the table in the southern group, after they had already conceded a 1: 4 in Munich on Sunday.

For the first time this season, the Berliners, who were inferior in all respects, had no goals of their own in the arena at Ostbahnhof.

In front of empty ranks, the hosts showed considerable weaknesses on the defensive and in the development game in the early third.

The Munich team was quicker, more determined and stronger in two fights and after twenty minutes they deservedly led 2-0 thanks to goals from Derek Roy and Mathew Maione.

After the first break, the guests extended their lead with a counter goal from Christopher Bourque.

Only now did the polar bears become more dangerous, but didn't take their chances.

Instead, Maione met again when Munich was outnumbered.

In the final section, Tobias Ancicka replaced Mathias Niederberger in goal, but couldn't prevent Zachary Redmond from scoring Bayern's fifth goal in the power play.

The polar bears will be playing their next home game against the Schwenninger Wild Wings on Wednesday (6.30 p.m. / Magentasport).
