Auerbach in the Upper Palatinate (dpa / lby) - Eight people, including a member of the fire brigade, were injured in a house fire in Auerbach in the Upper Palatinate (Amberg-Sulzbach district).

As the police announced, the fire broke out late on Monday evening for an unexplained cause.

Accordingly, the house was already on fire when the emergency services arrived.

The fire brigade saved seven people from the burning house using a turntable ladder and with the help of a neighbor's ladder.

They all suffered from smoke inhalation - including the rescue worker, who was then taken to nearby hospitals with five of the residents.

The other two injured were treated on site.

The building burned down completely and is no longer habitable.

According to initial estimates, the damage amounted to around 400,000 euros.
