Floyd died in the arrest on May 25 last year.

Arradondo chose to fire Chauvin and three other police officers involved in the incident.

In the testimony, the police chief made an almost painful evaluation of the incident:

-When Floyd was no longer receptive, and no longer moved, they continued to use violence against a person who was beaten and handcuffed behind his back - it completely violates our policy, it is not part of our education, and it is definitely not part of our ethics or our values.

Chauvin faces up to 40 years in prison if convicted of the most serious charges.
