Weißenfels (dpa) - Bundesliga basketball team Syntainics MBC has continued its downward trend.

The Weißenfelser lost the Central German derby against the Niners Chemnitz with 84:86 (35:46) on Easter Monday.

While the promoted team from Saxony practically managed to stay in the league after their tenth win of the season, after their seventh defeat in a row, the team from Saale are only four points ahead of the relegation zone.

Terrell Harris (15) won the decisive basket eleven seconds before the end to make it 82:85.

In addition, Isiaha Mike (19), George King (16) and Marcus Thornton (15) had the largest share in Chemnitz's success.

For the Weißenfelser the outstanding Michal Michalak (29), Roko Rogic (17) and Quinton Hooker (13) scored the most points.

After the good start (17:13, 6th minute), the hosts completely lost their thread.

With an 11-2 run, the Saxons were in the lead in the first quarter with 24:19 and increased their lead to 46:31 (19th minute).
