Magdeburg (dpa) - The incredible series of SC Magdeburg is torn.

Coach Bennet Wiegert's team lost 29:32 (16:17) to SG Flensburg-Handewitt on Easter Sunday and thus suffered the first defeat since the lost derby in Leipzig at the end of November.

Flensburg took back the championship lead with the win.

The SCM's best throwers were Christian O'Sullivan and Omar Magnusson with seven goals each, Johannes Golla and Mads Mensah Larsen scored the most frequently for Flensburg with eight goals each.

Flensburg had to do without Simon Hald, who had to go to the hospital with heart problems shortly before the game.

In a dynamic first half, the SCM went away to three hits (12: 9/20.).

Then Flensburg's Jim Gottfridsson saw the red card (21st) after a hard attack against Marko Bezjak.
