Düsseldorf (AP) - Despite a three-pack from Aaron Hunt, Hamburger SV missed its third win in a row in the 2nd Bundesliga, but recaptured 2nd place in the table.

The Hanseatic League had to be content with a 3: 3 at Hannover 96 after a 3-0 lead with three goals from Hunt.

Hamburg, together with SpVgg Greuther Fürth (both 50), are four points behind the sovereign leaders VfL Bochum (54), who beat Holstein Kiel (46) 2-1 in the top game on Saturday.

With two games behind, the Kielers still have the opportunity to overtake their two rivals HSV and Fürth.

Fortuna Düsseldorf (43) moved up to fifth with their 2-1 win at SV Darmstadt 98.


In the relegation battle, the table-17 held.

SV Sandhausen, with their 1-0 win against the bottom of the table, Würzburger Kickers, made it easy for the Kickers to avoid relegation with ten points behind them to 16th place.

1. FC Nürnberg celebrated an important 2-1 win against SC Paderborn and kept a safe distance from the relegation ranks.

Jahn Regensburg and FC Erzgebirge Aue parted 1: 1.
