Bamberg (dpa) - Former series champion Brose Bamberg has received another defeat in the basketball Bundesliga after five wins in a row.

The team of coach Johan Roijakkers lost to Hamburg Towers after a very weak first half with 64:76 (25:42).

Despite the defeat, Bamberg stayed in eighth playoff place, two wins ahead of medi Bayreuth and the Fraport Skyliners from Frankfurt.

With their sixth success in a row and their 16th win of the season, Hamburg consolidated sixth place.

The best thrower of the game was Towers-Center Maik Kotsar with a personal Bundesliga top score of 22 points.

Master Alba Berlin prevailed at the Telekom Baskets Bonn with 80:75 (37:42) and remained second.

The Albatrosses came into the game poorly two days after the Euroleague defeat against Valencia and were behind 0:13 after three minutes.

As a result, however, the Berliners got significantly better and ultimately retained the upper hand.
