The Green District Association in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania) accuses the administration there of systematically reporting the number of new corona infections too late in order to keep schools, daycare centers and retailers open.

This is reported by the "Ostsee-Zeitung".

As a result, the seven-day incidence in the whole of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania should not be below 100 as shown, but significantly higher.

The Greens are calling for an investigation and consequences for those responsible.

Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Health Minister Harry Glawe (CDU) now wants to investigate the allegations, but rejected the criticism.

The district chairman of the Greens, Hannes Damm, writes on his Facebook page that the seven-day incidence in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district on March 25 was not 118 as stated, but over 200.

That corresponds to a deviation of 74 percent.

This would mean that the district would be considered a high-risk area, which would, among other things, lead to school closings.

The incidence for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania was 112.2 on the same day, he writes.

Due to the wrong numbers from Western Pomerania-Greifswald, only an incidence of 94.9 was reported.

The RKI gives the incidence for the district on the border with Poland as 64.9.

Damm told the “Nordkurier” two days ago that the “district incidence should currently be 257”.

Damm: team of scientists discovers deviations

According to the newspaper, Damm, who is a physicist at the Max Planck Institute, refers to a team of scientists to which he belongs.

The group has been realizing that the numbers have been wrong since February, he writes.

Due to the permanent delay in reporting, there is now a discrepancy of 170 percent between the actual incidence and the number of reported cases, he claims.

The Green politician Damm blames the district administrator in Vorpommern-Greifswald, Michael Sack, who is also Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania's CDU boss, for the delay in reporting.
