03 April 2021 Easter vigil anticipated by Covid in compliance with the curfew.

The Pope presides - from 7.30 pm at the Altar of the Chair, in the Vatican Basilica with a number of faithful contingent in compliance with the anti Covid rules - the Easter Vigil on the Holy Night.



The rite of the blessing of fire takes place at the foot of the Altar of Confession.

The initial procession, from the Altar of the Confession to that of the Chair passing from the side of the "Altar of San Giuseppe".



The singing of the Gloria will correspond to the progressive lighting of the Basilica, until it is completely illuminated.

During the ceremony, the preparation of the paschal candle will be omitted and there will be no baptisms, but only the renewal of the baptismal promises, preceded by the blessing of the lustral water.
