Hannover (dpa / lno) - Hamburger SV wants to recapture the direct promotion place in the 2nd Bundesliga after the Saturday victories of rivals VfL Bochum and Greuther Fürth.
You need at least one point in the north derby at Hannover 96 today (1.30 p.m. / Sky). HSV would draw level with Fürth (50) and climb to second place behind leaders VfL Bochum (54) due to the better goal difference.
HSV coach Daniel Thioune had demanded compensation from his professionals in view of the 0-1 defeat in the first half of the season against Lower Saxony.
"As far as the point yield is concerned, we want to return the favor," announced the 46-year-old for the game at Lower Saxony.
