Bad Wildungen (dpa) - The handball players of SV Union Halle-Neustadt have almost managed to save them from relegation from the first Bundesliga.

Jan-Henning Himborn's protégés won their guest appearance at HSG Bad Wildungen on Saturday with 28:23 (16: 7) and thus returned the favor for their 19:32 defeat in the first leg.

After the fourth win in a row, the promoted team has nine points ahead of the relegation place before the last five match days.

Sophie Lütke (9/1), Maria Gudelj (5) and goalkeeper Anica Gudelj stood out from a team that appeared as one.

In the Bad Wildungen only Jana Scheib (8) and Miranda Schmidt-Robben (7/1) were able to convince.

For the first time, Katrin Welter, who will look after the team for the coming season, sat on the bench for the indoor women as Himborn's assistant trainer.

The guests acted very disciplined in defense and forced the opponent to make mistakes again and again through the offensive cover.

Over 4: 1 (6th) and 9: 2 (13th), the SV Union players pulled away to 20:10 by the 38th minute and had already made their ninth win of the season perfect at this point.
