03 April 2021 The personal data of over 533 million Facebook users from 106 countries stolen by hackers. These have been posted online in a dedicated forum. The Business Insider website broke the news.



The data covers millions of phone numbers, full names, addresses and birthdays and, according to cybersecurity experts, could be used to commit fraud.



Cybercriminals may have used the data to organize online scams and contact users via email or mobile phone to access additional personal information.



Of those affected, 32 million are in the US, 11 million in the UK and six million in India.



Facebook has not yet commented on the news.
