Arranging a major public event is prohibited.

But many of those who drove to the car meeting believe that the meeting is no more spectacular than parking outside a major grocery store or shopping center on a regular day.

Marina Hult and Josefin Johansson have come to the meeting from Kävlinge.

- We have ridden for several hours, car meetings are the best we know.

We think it feels calm if everyone feels healthy, says Marina Hult and Josefin Johansson from Kävlinge.

At the car meeting in Lidköping last weekend, a fight broke out and a policeman was slightly injured in an arrest.

The event, which did not have a permit, was so messy that the municipality decided before the Easter weekend to ban motor traffic in several major parking lots, but also motor traffic around the square in Lidköping.

"Playing cat and rat"

- We do this to keep the car culture alive, says one of the organizers known as Ibbe.

During Good Friday, the new planned car meeting was therefore moved to Överby in Trollhättan.

The police responded with a great effort and blocked off and set up roadblocks to two larger parking lots and parts of the meeting quickly moved to Vänersborg instead.

During Easter Eve, the organizers chose to keep the place a secret and just an hour before the meeting, it was announced that it would be in Torp in Uddevalla.

- We can play cat and rat with the police, says one of the organizers.

The organizer counts on hundreds of cars

Alfred and Charlie have traveled ten miles to get to the meeting.

Despite the fact that the place was announced shortly afterwards, about 100 cars had gathered in the parking lot by 8 pm on Easter Eve.

But the organizer estimates that there will be about 500 cars in total.

- This shows that people must have fun too.

Even though it's a pandemic.

The interest is very great and we place the responsibility on the visitors to keep their distance and spread their hands, says one of the organizers.
