Stuttgart (dpa) - At the demonstration in Stuttgart against the corona policy, several journalists were attacked on Saturday, according to the German Association of Journalists (DJV).

The SWR, for example, reported online that an ARD television team had been harassed on the Cannstatter Wasen and had interrupted a live call to the Tagesschau24 broadcaster.

A spokeswoman for the police said in the evening that the officials were still investigating what attacks there had been on media representatives.

More than 10,000 people - mostly without masks or distance - took part in the demonstration of the “lateral thinking” movement against the Corona policy.

The DJV federal chairman Frank Überall said that once again the self-proclaimed lateral thinkers had no qualms about attacking reporters as the target of their anger.

"I am furious at the apparent inaction of the police officers who do nothing to protect our colleagues."

The association wants to know why journalists are not adequately protected.

"What still has to happen before the security forces realize that journalists in Germany can no longer report freely?"
