On April 2, Wang Yi stated to Philippine Foreign Minister Lochin that China upholds the "three supports" for the current situation in Myanmar, and at the same time advocates that the "three avoidances" should be achieved.

  Wang Yi stated that China supports all parties and factions in Myanmar to seek political solutions to their differences through dialogue within the framework of the Constitution and the law, and continue to advance the process of democratic transformation that is not easy to come by and suits Myanmar’s national conditions; China supports ASEAN’s adherence to the principle of non-interference in internal affairs and consultation Consistent with tradition, as a mature regional organization, it encourages and constructively participate in the internal reconciliation process in Myanmar in the way of ASEAN; China supports the holding of a special ASEAN leaders meeting as soon as possible to jointly explore effective ways to ease the situation and solve problems within the ASEAN framework.

  Wang Yi emphasized on the "three avoidances": First, we must avoid continued bloody conflicts and civilian casualties, and prevent the situation from deteriorating or even getting out of control.

Second, we must avoid improper intervention by the UN Security Council, which will damage Myanmar’s sovereignty and further complicate matters.

Third, it is necessary to prevent some external forces from adding fuel to the flames and adding fuel to the fire in Myanmar, and seeking personal gains by messing up Myanmar.

  Wang Yi emphasized that China will maintain communication and coordination with all parties, and work with ASEAN to increase peace promotion and talks, and make every effort to promote the stability and cooling of the situation in Myanmar as soon as possible.
