Berlin (AP) - The former national soccer player Arne Friedrich considers national coach Joachim Löw to be the right German coach at the EM this summer even after the embarrassing 1: 2 defeat against North Macedonia.

"I would speak out in favor of him staying," said Friedrich on Friday in his role as sports director of Bundesliga club Hertha BSC.

«I am firmly convinced that we will play a really good tournament.

Jogi is the right man for the tournament, »said Friedrich, who himself played under Loew for a long time.

The now 41-year-old played a total of 82 international matches for Germany until 2011.
