01 April 2021 Between 12 and 26 April people aged 75-79 in Lombardy will have their first dose of vaccine.

Guido Bertolaso, the coordinator of the regional vaccination campaign, starts here during the press conference for the presentation of the new vaccine booking system in collaboration with Poste Italiane.

"First we finish all the over 80s, then we attack with the younger ones," he said, explaining that the forecast is to finish the first dose for the over 80s by 11 April.

The 70-74 and 60-69 age range

Reservations for the 70-74 age bracket should open on April 15 with the start of vaccinations the day after the end of the previous bracket, therefore starting from April 27 and the goal of finishing the administration of the first dose by 6. May.

After that, it will be the turn of bookings for the 60-69 age group.

50-59 age group and the under 49 years

A schedule linked to vaccines, of course, but if the supplies are respected between 30 April and 15 May, people in the 50-59 age group can begin to book for vaccination, while those under 49 should be able to book between mid-May and early June, with the aim of receiving a first dose around mid-July.

The "variant" of vaccines

A plan linked to a double knot with the supplies of vaccines that should "grow significantly" in the coming weeks.

If so, underlines Bertolaso, all adults residing in Lombardy should be vaccinated by 18 July.

The date, it should be noted, is calculated on the basis of any increase in the capacity of administration from the current 65,000 doses to the 144,000 scheduled by the Region according to the plan developed by the government.

"They are not dates written in stone: it can be postponed by a couple of days but the dates will not be postponed by a month or a month and a half", clarified the former head of the Civil Protection.

"We are in the world of the possible and there are no certainties", said Bertolaso, reiterating that the forecasts are made assuming that there are no external problems, for example supply interruptions.

"Let's go on like this, it's the right path for everyone".

Vaccinations in the company

The vice president of the Lombardy Region, Letizia Moratti, explained that companies will be able to vaccinate employees, but not their family members, within their facilities.
