Potsdam (dpa / bb) - The number of corona infections within seven days per 100,000 inhabitants continues to rise in Brandenburg.

After a value of 142.6 on Wednesday, it was 146.4 on Thursday, according to the Ministry of Health.

Almost all districts and the cities of Cottbus, Brandenburg an der Havel and Frankfurt (Oder) are above the 100 mark on three consecutive days. Then the so-called emergency brake applies.

In Potsdam, the seven-day incidence was from 98.2 on Wednesday to 113.7 on Thursday.

In the Dahme-Spreewald district, the incidence rose to 105.4 from 98.4 the day before.

According to an agreement between the federal and state governments, an “emergency brake” applies - nationally or regionally, if the value of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in one week is over 100 for three days in a row in a district or urban district.

Brandenburg is implementing the 100 series emergency brake at district level.

Counties should take further action if the seven-day incidence is persistently well above 100.

The focus of the corona infections remains in the south of the country.

The Elbe-Elster district reported a seven-day incidence of around 266 after around 260 on Wednesday.

It is followed by the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district with a value of 192 after 194.7 on the previous day.

The Uckermark district has the fewest new corona cases with 67.3 infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days.
