Frankfurt (AP) - The Niners Chemnitz have taken another step to stay in the basketball Bundesliga.
Coach Rodrigo Pastore's team won the Fraport Skyliners from Frankfurt on Thursday with 89:76 (51:40).
After the ninth win of the season, the Saxons temporarily extended their lead over the relegation ranks to ten points.
The best throwers from Chemnitz were Terrell Harris (21 points) and Isiaha Mike (18).
«We showed a clear improvement after the defeat in Göttingen on Tuesday.
The coaching team adjusted us perfectly and motivated us very well.
We let the ball run well and deservedly won, ”said top scorer Harris at“ Magentasport ”.
The Niners traditionally found their way into the game slowly and were behind in the 8th minute with 12:20.
In the final phase of the opening quarter, however, the Pastore team improved and went into the first break with a narrow 24:23 lead.
