Hamburg / Darmstadt (dpa / lhe) - Eleven young scientists from Hessen have qualified for the national youth research competition.
The federal final will take place from May 26th to 30th, 2021 as an online event, as the Jugend forscht foundation announced on Thursday.
The state winners had been chosen beforehand.
A total of 61 participants submitted 34 research projects.
A special camera for rescue vehicles won in its category: It detects when cars block the emergency lane during an emergency and forwards their data to the responsible authorities via the Internet.
A stabilization system for weather balloons, an investigation into the decline in local flowering flora and a system for detecting smoldering fires in trains and airplanes were also among the winners in their categories.
