Mönchengladbach (dpa) - When looking for a new coach for the Bundesliga soccer club Borussia Mönchengladbach, sports director Max Eberl continues to keep a low profile.

Eberl did not want to comment on an alleged interest in Frankfurt's head coach Adi Hütter on Thursday.

"To this day there is nothing to be announced," said Borussia's sports director.

Basically, one is in good talks when it comes to the coach question.

Eberl confirmed that he had also exchanged ideas with Xabi Alonso.

«We had a conversation and got to know each other.

That was incredibly interesting, ”revealed the 47-year-old.

The world champion and former Bayern professional will remain in his home country as the coach of the second team at Real Sociedad San Sebastian.

The speculation about the Hütter, who is under contract with the Hessen until 2023, has been around for a long time.

According to information from the “Bild” newspaper (Thursday), there should have been a request from Gladbach.

Borussia's coach Marco Rose knows Hütter well.

«He's a good guy and a very good coach.

At that time I was doing more or less my internship with him in Salzburg.

He did well, "said Rose on Thursday.

Was Hütter a suitable candidate for Borussia?

"I don't know if he has any connection with the club," said Rose.
