Bitburg (dpa / lrs) - Two attentive drivers may have prevented an accident with a drunk driver.

The two had shielded a car driver who drove serpentine lines with their vehicles on the federal highway 51 in the direction of Bitburg, the police said on Thursday.

Accordingly, they positioned their vehicles behind the 53-year-olds' car and warned oncoming traffic with a flasher.

The police were then able to stop the driver in the morning.

Her breath alcohol concentration was found to be 2.76 per mille, and her blood was then taken in the hospital.

Her driver's license was temporarily revoked.
