Berlin / Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - It is politically controversial, but it is also a hit in Baden-Württemberg: In the past two and a half years, almost 45,200 families have fulfilled their dream of owning their own home with the Baukindergeld, as the responsible development bank KfW of the German press Agency announced.
The funding amount is almost 984 million euros.
Nationwide, more than 330,000 families applied for Baukindergeld.
This means that around seven billion euros have been used up nationwide.
According to the Ministry of the Interior, no further extension is currently planned.
Since April, applications can only be submitted by families who have already signed a purchase contract or received a building permit in March.
Since September 18, 2018, families and single parents can apply for state funding.
There is then 12,000 euros per child, paid out in ten annual installments of 1200 euros.
A total of 9.9 billion euros are available.
If the funding amount has been used up, it should not be increased according to the previous plans.
