But the Parisians interviewed by Europe 1 do not really believe in the effectiveness of the measure.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Jean Castex announced to the National Assembly that the consumption of alcohol on the public highway would be prohibited in the coming weeks.

In the streets of Paris, the inhabitants met by Europe 1 are divided as to the interest of such a restriction.

Crossed near the Canal Saint-Martin, where many young people are used to meeting in the open air, Edgar is shared.

"If it can regulate a little, why not. If we can find solutions to curb the virus, I completely agree," he says.

"Afterwards, to the point of quitting the alcohol, I think you just need to have common sense."

"I will continue to consume"

Clément, he regrets that we do not appeal to common sense and responsibility, and enjoys one of his last beers with his friend Jérémie.

"It's reasonable, we're not drinking 10 drinks," he said.

But for them, these measures "will not prevent people from gathering outside."

"We can have water, sugary drinks ... It won't change much. People will continue to gather in the sun."

And for many passers-by, this ban gives the impression that we are still taking a little pleasure out of life.

For some, we can sense a bit of indiscipline.

"I will be careful, I will watch for the arrival of the police, but I will continue to consume alcohol," admits a Parisian.

Another warns: "People will put mixtures in their bottles, they will lie and say it's mint syrup when it's Get 27".
