Emmanuel Macron promised Wednesday evening that the pace of vaccinations against Covid-19 would be accelerated.

Vaccination will be extended to over 60s on April 16, then to over 50s on May 15.

The Head of State also assured that all French people who so wish would be vaccinated by the end of August.

"We are putting all the means to vaccinate, vaccinate, vaccinate, without respite, without holidays, Saturday and Sunday like the week", hammered Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday evening during his speech.

The Head of State assured that the rhythm of vaccinations would intensify.

"From April 16, the first appointments will be granted to people who are between 60 and 70 years old. From May 15, the first appointments will be open for our fellow citizens who are between 50 and 60", a- he declared.

Vaccination open to under 50s mid-June

Thirdly, vaccination will be open "to all French and French women under 50" in mid-June.

"A specific vaccination strategy will also be put in place for all the most exposed professions, in particular teachers, but also the police and several others", also specified the President of the Republic.
